Essential exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou
The Centre Pompidou, a multicultural complex and high tech design building in the heart of Paris, is the venue for many fascinating exhibitions, primarily dealing with modern art. Two shows currently running deal with two 20th century creators who are giants in their respective fields and whose influence is considerable. Marcel Duchamp; La Peinture, Même looks at the often quite startling and challenging paintings of one of the most important artists of his era. The Frank Gehry retrospective also currently being presented examines the design work of this pioneering contemporary architect who built, among other works, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
