Paris, the capital of gastronomy
During September, the capital opens its doors to lovers of gastronomy. In the first week of the month the Salon Mer, Vigne & Gastronomie fair takes place in the Parc Floral de Paris, showcasing products from the meat, poultry, seafood, wine and spirits industries. Then, there’s the Fête de la Gastronomie, a national celebration of all things wonderful about French cuisine. Every year, the finest French food producers offer their wares for tasting. This year’s 5th edition takes place on September 25th, 26th and 27th and, as usual, Paris will be at the centre of things. In addition to public picnics and banquets, restaurants offer special deals, chefs get out and about to demonstrate their talents before audiences, cooking workshops take place and special markets are set up so you can sample and purchase the finest local produce. What a great weekend to be a foodie!
France and her know-how
Beginning in August, you will have access to all the best French know-how through various shows that are scheduled for the final months of 2015. Excellently located, the Hotel Marais Bastille is not far from the Eiffel Tower, and offers the perfect point of departure for all upcoming events. These highlight the creativity of French artisans, but also offer an international scope. Great examples of this are the Bijorhca trade fair, where fine fashion jewellery and watches are in the spotlight, and Beyond Beauty, where cosmetics and well-being are the focus. Then there’s the Salon du Mariage, a wedding fair presenting all the new collections and future trends pertaining to that big day. Early September brings Révélations to the Grand Palais. This fine craft and creations fair brings together craftspeople, craft workshops, art galleries, collectors and the general public. It offers the perfect opportunity to find something wonderful for your home.

But wait! There are yet more trade fairs scheduled! Car fans won’t want to miss Equip Auto 2015 in October, and recreational vehicle enthusiasts will be gathering at Le Bourget in late September and early October for the largest show of leisure vehicles in France. The home is at the centre of Maison & Objet, a contemporary lifestyle fair dealing with furniture, design, décor and much more. This is where to come to find inspiration, discover the latest trends and innovations or forge industry connections. Finally, the Salon de la Rentrée is the place to go for all your further education and training requirements.
