Operas in Paris present a season of Italian greats

Operas in Paris enjoy a phenomenal worldwide reputation set to be enhanced even further as the Paris National Opera continues its 2013-2014 season at the Opera Bastille. At the heart of this ambitious programme of presentations will be Italian Opera, with works by Donizetti, Verdi and Bellini. The 2,700 seat Opera Bastille house was created as part of President Francois Mitterrand’s ambitious project to create new monuments for Paris. The building was designed by Carlos Ott and saw its first performance in 1990. The Hotel Marais Bastille is less than ten minutes’ walk from this stunning example of modern architecture.
